Houston, TX

Tex Mex

Chuy’s Upper Kirby
This quaint familiar tex-mex restaurant is nestled on the outskirts of River Oaks and a must-visit. It’s down to earth with reliable margaritas and a fully stocked chips and queso bar that will make you say yes to that 2nd and 3rd drink. Did I say the chips and queso bar is free?

·  Specials – M-F $3 house margaritas
·  Drink strength- 3
·  Overall rating- 4

Cyclone Anaya’s Midtown
Another familiar tex-mex restaurant that needs no explanation. Although there are several locations in Houston, the Midtown location is definitely where you want to be.  Happy hour is always packed but the margaritas are sure to make you forget about that 45min wait. If you want to be seen, this is your scene.

·   Specials – M-F ?
·   Drink Strength – 4
·   Overall rating- 4

American

Benjy’s on Washington and Rice Village
Great food and decent happy hour, did I say great food. This place is both trendy and homey and worth every penny.  Both locations have lounges upstairs for a social hour and a restaurant fit for any occasion.

·  Specials - M-F?
·  Drink strength- 3
·  Overall rating- 5

Susie is drinking Houston this weekend … At St. Arnold brewery for the last tour in this facility. I recommend getting here early and buying the bigger glass. : )
